LSB Round 12 (Regular Season): Puntarenas lose to Metropoli in the biggest upset of the week

The most shocking disappointment of round 12 in the LSB was a road defeat of higher ranked Puntarenas (5-5) to eighth ranked Metropoli (4-7) 76-69. Metropoli moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Grecia and Limon Sh. Puntarenas at the other side keep the fourth position with five games lost. Metropoli is looking forward to face league's leader Abogados in San Jose in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Puntarenas will play against Jaguars and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
LSB top team - Abogados (9-1) added another victory to their record. This time they beat seventh ranked Limon Sh. (4-7) 90-84. Defending champion maintains first position with 9-1 record. Limon Sh. at the other side dropped to the sixth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Grecia and Metropoli. Abogados will play against Metropoli (#8) in Cartago in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Limon Sh. will play on the road against ARBA in San Jose and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Second ranked Escazu (9-2) crushed at home 6th ranked Grecia (4-7) by 30 points 89-59, which is the biggest margin this round on Tuesday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Grecia. Escazu have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 9-2 record having just one point less than leader Abogados. Loser Grecia keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Limon Sh. and Metropoli. Escazu will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Grecia will play against Roswell (#9) and hope to secure a win.

In the last game of round 12 Jaguars won against Roswell on the opponent's court 77-65.



Escazu - Grecia 89-59

Roswell lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with nine games lost. Jaguars will meet at home higher ranked Puntarenas (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Roswell will play against Grecia (#6) and hope to secure a win.

Limon Sh. - Abogados 84-90
